This is what happened to the Whitlock family on October 4th, 2003 when they nearly lost their 5-year-old son, Evan, in an automobile crash that left him in a coma for 6 weeks. Evan spent 3 weeks at Palmetto Richland Children’s Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina and 3 months at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital and Day Rehab facility in Atlanta, Georgia. During this 16 week journey, God allowed the Whitlock family to see and experience amazing examples of His love for us and the beautiful work He can do in the midst of a terrible tragedy. 10-4, Good Buddy is a testimony to the power of prayer, the love of a community, and the love and wisdom of children. It is the story of Evan’s fight to relearn to walk, talk, and eat again. It is a story of humility and, above all, obedience to God. It is a story that reminds us how precious our children are and what truly is important in this life…
